Austria: fake ads during Black Week
Around Black Friday, Austrian authorities warn about social media ads leading to fake shops or subscription traps. Buyers pay by card and nothing is delivered.
Warning signs
- Ads only on Instagram/Facebook, no real shop
- Countdown timers and 'today only'
- No imprint, or one outside the EU
What to do
Block the card or file a chargeback, report it and keep a screenshot of the ad.
